Podcast Series with Professor Siobhan Mattison: Episode 4

Hi Everyone,

How did you all enjoy the last episode of the podcast with Professor Siobhan Mattison? That was a wealth of information on the Mosuo tribe. If you want to explore more of Professor Mattison’s research on the Mosuo tribe, you can find it on her University of New Mexico website: https://anthropology.unm.edu/research/field-projects/project/mosuo-health-and-demography-project.html

In this final segment of our 4 part podcast series, we conclude our conversation with a discussion on Professor Mattison’s current research, which is a very interesting topic. Her research is on the reasons for and outcomes of adoption in the island of Vanuatu, which is close to Australia and New Caledonia.

We hope to have Professor Mattison on Project Matrilineal again at a future date, so she can share more about her research findings. If any of you would like to check out her work at the Human Family and Evolutionary Demography Lab, you can go to www.hfedlab.com. I really hope you have enjoyed this outside in perspective and podcast series. Professor Mattison is an experienced anthropologist, and we only scratched the surface of her work.

In our next series, we will be hosting an informal conversation on identity, Choctaw, Mexicatl, and Chicano cultures, through the fascinating lenses and vivid stories of Mr. Adres Matrinez, an experienced educator, and Mrs. Judith Gomez, a professional executive and intellectual in the Denver metropolitan area. This podcast is unlike any other we have hosted so far, so please tune in.

More on this in my next blog!
